Heat Resources for Impacted People
Extreme heat inside Texas prisons is not simply uncomfortable—it is dangerous. Every summer, thousands of incarcerated Texans live in housing units where indoor temperatures can climb well above safe levels. Without adequate climate control, people face increased risks of heat exhaustion, heat stroke, worsening chronic illnesses, dehydration, and even death.

At Texas Prisons Community Advocates (TPCA), we believe that access to safe living conditions is a basic human right. Regardless of why someone is incarcerated, no sentence should become a death sentence because of extreme heat.​​
